Mariatu Tu Browne’s journey in beauty began behind the chair. As a licensed cosmetologist, she built her career through years of hands-on work with clients, learning that real skill comes from practice, patience, and care.
As an educator, she discovered her passion for mentoring the next generation of beauty professionals, and as an entrepreneur, she learned firsthand what it takes to build a business in the beauty industry.
She founded Tu Organics Academy to create the kind of school she believed students deserved: a place where every student is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to practice, with responsible beauty practices and an entrepreneurial mindset at its core.

Founded by Mariatu Tu Browne, a visionary entrepreneur and educator, the Academy builds on the legacy of Tu Organics Salon, established in 2016. Created for women overcoming adversity, especially survivors of abuse, incarceration, and trafficking, our programs are designed to inspire confidence, independence, and leadership.
